Camp Descriptions

Positional Camp
The Positional Camp is designed for female athletes entering grades 8-12 who are committed to developing their skills as a setter, hitter, or libero (defensive specialist). Setter instruction focuses on the fundamentals of setting including proper footwork, hand positioning, emergency skills, and defense. Hitter instruction emphasizes proper footwork and arm swing mechanics, shot selection, ball control, and defense. Instruction for liberos includes general ball handling, posture and movement, digging techniques, and emergency skills.

All positional campers begin in position specific technical training stations and progress to small group combined training sessions. In the combined training sessions the campers have opportunities to respond to multiple skill, multiple contact pass-set-hit and dig-set-hit progressions. Campers must identify themselves as a Setter, Hitter, or Libero on their Camp Application.

The Positional Camp is a 3-day camp with three training sessions days 1 and 2. There is one training session on the last day of camp.

All Skills Camp
The All Skills Camp is designed to meet the needs of female athletes entering grades 6-12. The camp focuses on developing and refining fundamental skills while providing opportunities to perform in a competitive environment. Skill development is emphasized in the following areas: serving, serve receiving, forearm passing, setting, attacking, team offense and defense, blocking, and team transition. Campers are grouped according to skill level and age and benefit from structured drills, game-like situations and competition. The camp goal is to encourage enjoyment and success by providing an enthusiastic learning environment for campers to improve and test their skills.

The All Skills Training Camp is a 4-day camp with three training sessions days 1, 2 and 3. There is one training session on the last day of camp. All campers compete in a tournament during the last two training sessions on the last day of camp. Parents are welcome to observe the training sessions and camp tournament.

 

Team Camp
The Team Camp is a training and competition camp designed for girls' high school teams at all levels to get a jump start on their season. The camp focus is technical instruction, team offense and defense systems, team transition and competition. Team sessions emphasize skill development and provide opportunities to respond to game-like situations.

Teams are supervised by their high school coach. High school coaches participate in positional training and competition with their team. The All Skills Training Camp is a 4-day camp with three training sessions days 1, 2 and 3. There is one training session on the last day of camp.



Cougar Kids Camp
The Cougar Kids Volleyball Camp is a great opportunity for your son or daughter to learn the basics of volleyball. We teach all of the skills using a lightweight youth ball and lowered nets. Recommended for boys and girls entering 3rd through 8th grade.
